Two very different dancers in age and ability trace their physical landscapes, measure the shapes, the forces and come together in a very human way.

Resistdance
Silke Z., born in 1970, studied Physical Education and Sports at the Deutsche Sporthochschule in Cologne and completed her master’s degree at the European Dance Development Center (EDDC) in Arnhem (Netherlands) and at the Moving On Center in San Francisco (USA). She founded and directed the company Silke Z. resistdance from 1999 to 2017 and the intergenerational ensemble die metabolisten from 2017 to 2023. She developed and toured with over 40 dance productions in Germany and abroad, which received several awards. She is the founder and artistic director of ehrenfeldstudios, an intergenerational and inclusive production and event space for contemporary dance in Cologne. Here, Z. initiates mediation and participation offers focusing on involvement in artistic processes. From 2020 to 2022, she developed three stage productions with an ensemble of various ages in the project Der empathische Körper (The Empathetic Body), accompanied by dance research laboratories "the distant body" and "the diverse body" for people over 60 and workshops with high school students. Currently, Z. is working on her new project UNTER LEUTEN - you're so fucking special.
David Winking lives and works in Bochum, Germany. He is an actor and dancer with Down syndrome and has been part of the ensemble at Junges Schauspielhaus Bochum since September 2018. Since March 2020, he has been dancing with Silke Z.’s ensemble in the productions WIR, Liebe is...PRIME, MIT UNS Episode 1, DEINE WAHL, and LUSTOPIA.
Karel Vaněk began his modern dance training after graduating in mathematics from Charles University in Prague in 1983. He has been dancing since then, among other places at the Laterna Magika Theater in Prague, with the Palindrome N.Y. Dance Company, with the New Prague Dancers, and as a soloist with the Freiburg and Bonn Choreographic Theater. Together with Eva Černá, who passed away in 2008, he founded Černá Vaněk Dance in 1991. Vaněk has worked as a choreographer for the New Prague Dancers, the American Dance Festival, the Swiss Chamber Ballet, and others. Vaněk has been working continuously with dramaturg Guido Preuß since 2009. In 2017, Černá Vaněk Dance changed its name to Tanzwerke Vanek Preuß, where Vaněk works as a director, choreographer, and dancer.
